So what I did was get on Comixology yesterday and buy the heck out of a BUNCH of Cassandra Cain Batgirl issues. I bought the first twelve because I wanted the first year (and because I couldn't buy #1 during the Save Cass campaign and needed to make it up to the nice people who came up with that idea), then #37 like a good little Cass fan and a smattering of other issues I simply enjoy for my own reasons. Of course, I own all of these issues in print form and many of them in trade collections, but the point is to show a little financial love for Cass so maybe-- just maybe-- DC will decide she's not so toxic after all. And it's better to do than just to complain.

That's great. I will attempt to promote the Fight On, Cass campaign on several Facebook pages when the time comes. My digital collection currently consists of 44 freebies, the first 3 in No Man's Land and Batgirl #1.

Please do! I'm not sure how the word's getting out and I'm not on any lists or message boards where I can promote it. Oh yeah, I love the freebies on Comixology! I added some old Valiant and a Love and Rockets sampler. You went deep into the Cass back catalog! I've never read No Man's Land!
DeleteI'm enjoying No Man's Land so far. I've never read them before, and Cass is not in the first three, but I like that Oracle is narrating it. Barbara's "voice" is my idea of correct for her. I don't like when the writer has her cussing all the time like she is in the only New 52 that I've read. It seams to contradictory to the character since Barbara is an intellectual, rule oriented traditionalist.
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of how I've always thought of Barbara, too. But I've only read a few of the old Birds of Prey series and am most familiar with her in Cass's Batgirl book and that's definitely how she comes across there. I'll have to read No Man's Land sometime!
